Vocational education and training students, teachers and service providers have been honoured for being the best at what they do at the 2022 NSW Training Awards
Minister for Skills and Training Alister Henskens congratulated all the award winners for making their mark in their respective categories, showcasing the many opportunities and pathways vocational education and training can offer people from all walks of life.
"Our award winners are the best in the State and they will all go on to be strong ambassadors for vocational education and training in NSW," Mr Henskens said.
"NSW has the most diverse economy in Australia, and the students, teachers and service providers represented at this year's Awards are proof that our State's training system is leading the nation.
"These are people and organisations who invest in their local communities, boost our economy, create new jobs, deliver better services and build a brighter future for NSW."
Vice-Captain of Strathfield Girls High School Stella Cox was named the VET in Schools Student of the Year for excelling in her Certificate III in Health Services Assistance with NSW Health.
Ms Cox said she will be the third generation in her family to enter the nursing profession and hopes to specialise in midwifery.
"While both my grandmother and mother are two inspirational women in my life, a driving force was to be part of a sector that needs more nurses," Ms Cox said.
Inverell metal fabricator Lachlan Butler was named Apprentice of the Year for plying his trade at BOSS Engineering.
The 22-year-old has made big strides in his apprenticeship at the same time as assuming responsibility on his family's farm.
Winners will represent NSW at the Australian Training Awards in November.
