There's a range of works happening at Hampton Beach this spring so more people of different ages and abilities can enjoy Bayside's beautiful foreshore.
Upgrades include a new accessible ramp and accessible parking spaces for safer and easier access from the foreshore gardens to the beach. Combined with Hampton's beach matting and beach wheelchair, these upgrades will ensure everyone, regardless of age or ability, can access the water.
By next summer, Hampton Beach visitors will also be able to enjoy an upgraded playspace, including a series of large shade umbrellas, a range of seats and loungers, and water and sand play activities for the little ones.
While we're there, we'll also improve safety on a section of the Bay Trail and undertake extensive planting and landscaping works.
Works are taking place during spring to minimise disruption, and the beach will remain open during construction.
Council is fully funding this project as part of Bayside's ongoing investment in community infrastructure.
