A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will provide better connections into Werribee with a crucial upgrade to Ballan Road.
Ballan Road is a major arterial road, connecting Wyndham's western suburbs directly into the heart of Werribee, but is often crippled by traffic congestion, which is exacerbated by significant population growth in the area.
The Liberals and Nationals will deliver the $87 million duplication of Ballan Road between Armstrong Road and Bolton Road, including the upgrade of a series of existing roundabouts to signalised intersections.
The Ballan Road overpass of the rail line in Wyndham Vale will also be widened to accommodate extra lanes entering the intersection at Armstrong Road.
Leader of the Opposition, Matt Guy, said the duplication of part of Ballan Road will solve the significant concerns around congestion in the area.
"The upgrade will service the growing suburbs between Manor Lakes and Werribee, as well as locations of interest like the Manor Lakes train station, Manor Lakes shopping centre, Eagle Stadium and multiple schools."
"This will mean a safer and faster drive to school and work and will service the area well into the future."
Liberal Candidate for Werribee, Mia Shaw, said the drive between Manor Lakes and Werribee should be around 14 minutes, but in peak times it can blow out to 45 minutes.
"Despite the massive growth in the area, the Andrews Government has neglected to prioritise these upgrades for Ballan Road."
"Only the Liberals and Nationals will sufficiently invest in the infrastructure that Werribee and Melbourne's growing west deserves."
