Better Toilets On Bayside Beaches

As part of Council's implementation of the Dendy Street Beach Masterplan and the Bayside Public Toilet Strategy 2024-28, we've applied for a Heritage Victoria permit to upgrade the existing southern terrace foreshore toilet and shower facilities, opposite Norwood Avenue.

The endorsed project is included in the 2024-25 capital works budget and the improved facilities will enhance the visitor experience by providing a modern, more environmentally sustainable public facility, designed to service all users.

The new facility design compliments the surrounding environment, and the proposed new facility includes 8 all gender toilets (including 2 ambulant toilets and one accessible toilet), 4 showers, bike racks, a new water tap with drink bottle filler, lighting improvements, seating, and landscaping around the facilities.

The Heritage Victoria permit application advertising period is currently open (until Wednesday 18 December). Heritage Victoria are directly accepting feedback and enquiries relating to heritage concerns (VHR H2369).
