Bayside Council's recent series of free bicycle tune-ups attracted seasoned cyclists and leisure riders keen to get their bikes looked over by expert mechanics.
Local riders received a free service that included a quick check of tyres, gears and brakes by experienced bike mechanics.
Small issues were fixed on the spot, while the mechanics were able to provide advice on more complex adjustments or repairs needed and the potential costs involved .
Council staff were also on hand to collect information from riders regarding there cycling habits and the use of local bicycle routes.
This project was an NSW Environment Protection Authority Waste & Sustainable Materials Strategy initiative and was funded from the waste levy.
Bayside Council is planning similar sessions for residents during the year. Keep an eye on the What's On page for future events.
