The first works are underway to retrofit the new Orange Sky Headquarters of the Future, at a site in Stafford.
The Miles Government committed $3 million towards the project, in partnership with Orange Sky.
Orange Sky is a Queensland success story – offering free mobile laundry and shower services, as well as a safe and supportive environment for people experiencing homelessness, hardship and social isolation.
Orange Sky is a step closer to opening their new Headquarters of the Future, as work gets underway at a site in Stafford this month.
The new facility is made possible by a $3 million contribution from the Miles Labor Government, in partnership with Orange Sky.
The Brisbane Headquarters of the Future will be an international hub for Orange Sky operations across Australia and New Zealand.
Retrofitting works are now underway to ensure the headquarters is fit for purpose – where vans and pods are built, research and development is conducted, and thousands of volunteers are supported.
Orange Sky provides free mobile laundry and shower services in 38 communities across the country (14 in Queensland), with plans to expand to more areas in response to growing need amid national cost of living pressures.
The not-for-profit organisation also responds to natural disasters, providing rapid support to displaced people and families.
