A Queensland couple are over the moon after their impromptu lottery entry won them $1 million in Weekday Windfall draw last night.
The Gold Coast residents held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall, draw 4407, drawn Monday 24 June 2024 and look forward to $1 million.
“How amazing!” the winning man cheered when speaking to a lotto official this morning.
“Things like this don’t happen every day.
“It’s just so surreal. I’m in so much shock.
“I was lying on the couch yesterday after work and I decided to put on a last-minute entry for Weekday Windfall. I haven’t purchased a ticket for months.
“I never expected to win division one. I have goosebumps hearing you say I’ve won $1 million.
“You just dream of winning and always wonder what you would do if it happened to you.
“We both decided to work from home today because it would be too hard to concentrate.
“We’re going to be discrete and take the time to process it all.
“Thank you so much for the call.”
With $1 million about to change the course of their life, the dynamic duo shared it would help them pay off their mortgage and plan for the future.
“This will go towards bills and paying off our mortgage,” he said.
“It will really help us get ahead.”
His winning ticket was a 6-game QuickPick entry.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4407 on Monday 24 June 2024 were 17, 41, 29, 5, 8 and 12, while the supplementary numbers were 11 and 37.
