A brand-new take on an original surf classic will hit the screens at Lennox Head Cultural Centre this Friday 30 August 2024.
Birth of the Endless Summer is a new, full-length feature documentary that reveals the hidden story behind filmmaker Bruce Brown's The Endless Summer.
The award-winning documentary feature captures the magic of adventure traveller and surf pioneer Dick Metz as he vagabonds the globe from 1958 to 1961.
Metz's journey would not only inspire Brown to create one of the most watched and beloved surf films of all time, but also set events in motion that would forever change surfing and pop culture.
Featuring three generations of surfing's highest profile characters, from the 1950s right up to today, Birth of the Endless Summer is the new chapter in one of documentary cinema's most iconic franchises.
Birth of the Endless Summer screens on Friday 30 August at the Lennox Head Cultural Centre. Doors open at 5.30pm, film starts at 7pm, followed by Q&A with Rob Machado at 8.30pm.
