Deloitte announced a boost to its Brisbane team today, with the founders and staff of local data analytics and financial performance management business, Bistech, set to join the professional services firm.
Bistech co-owners, Shane Morgan, Justin Hoareau and Brad Culbert will be joining Deloitte's Analytics & Cognitive consulting practice in leadership positions, with Brad Culbert joining as a Partner. They, along with Bistech's
17 experienced consultants, will work from Deloitte's Eagle Street offices in
Brisbane from the beginning of April.
Founded in 2000, and focused on the Queensland market, Bistech helps clients to better understand and harness their business-critical data, leveraging cloud
technologies and modern analytics solutions to make informed business decisions and achieve enhanced performance.
Deloitte CEO, Richard Deutsch, said: "As clients increasingly explore shifting their data capabilities to the cloud, businesses are at a tipping point as they adopt more holistic data strategies. Australia's data analytics market is expected to deliver the fourth fastest growth rate in Asia-Pacific behind China, Indonesia, and India* - so the timing is right for Deloitte to welcome Bistech's significant capability and experience to our Data Modernisation practice."
Deloitte Brisbane Office Managing Partner, John Greig, said: "Bistech has a great reputation in Queensland, particularly with clients in the public sector, which complements much of our existing work as we assist the state to diversify its economy for the future. There is significant growth opportunity for us to use
Bistech's expertise with our work in the retail and health sectors."
Deloitte Consulting Managing Partner, Kaylene O'Brien, said: "The Bistech team bring a great mix of business and technical expertise that is increasingly in demand from clients seeking to extract maximum benefit from their data. Their service offerings closely align with client demand, including data architecture, cloud data solutions migration, data asset modernisation, predictive analytics and machine learning."
Commenting on the move, Bistech's founder, Shane Morgan, said: "We're incredibly excited and pleased to be joining Deloitte's Analytics & Cognitive team, which shares the same people values and customer focus we've built over the last 19 years in business." Brad Culbert said joining Deloitte would help the team to extend the scope and scale of solutions they deliver to clients: "There is a growing demand for multi-technology solutions that drive higher business impact by leveraging data," he said. "Together with Deloitte, we are excited to lead the way towards these modern business solutions and continue guiding clients to success." Justin Hoareau added: "The opportunity for our people and customers going forward is significant and we look forward to continuing to deliver high quality professional services and genuine value to our customers. We are proud to be joining the Deloitte family and working together as a team."
