Blair Thanks Ombudsman Lick, Announces Interim Replacement

The Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, today thanked and expressed his gratitude to outgoing Department of National Defence (DND) and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Ombudsman, Mr. Gregory A. Lick, for his dedicated service.

Minister Blair also announced Ms. Robyn Hynes will occupy the role of Ombudsperson on an interim basis while a formal appointment process is underway.

The Ombudsperson acts as a neutral and objective sounding board, mediator, investigator, and reporter on matters related to DND/CAF. They serve to contribute to substantial and long-lasting improvements in the welfare of employees and members of the Defence community.

Ms. Hynes has worked in support of the Defence community for 16 years and is currently the Director General, Operations, for the Ombudsperson's office.

A formal appointment process will be launched in the coming weeks.
