Blinken Meets Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdelatty

As stated by Spokesperson Matthew Miller:

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Rio de Janeiro on the margins of the G20 to discuss the situation in the Middle East and efforts to bring the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon to an end. The Secretary underscored the urgency of securing the release of all hostages and increasing and sustaining the delivery of humanitarian assistance. The Secretary and Foreign Minister discussed the importance of establishing a path for the post-conflict period that provides governance, security, and reconstruction for Gaza. The Secretary and Foreign Minister also discussed ongoing efforts to reach a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in Lebanon that fully implements United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and allows citizens on both sides of the border to return to their homes.
