Blinken Meets Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim

As stated by Spokesperson Matthew Miller:

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani today in Doha. They discussed renewed efforts to secure the release of the hostages and end the war in Gaza, as well as ongoing work to provide for security, governance, and reconstruction in Gaza after the war. The Secretary and the Amir exchanged views on achieving a diplomatic resolution along the Blue Line and making political progress in Lebanon in order to ensure its sovereignty and security. The Secretary emphasized the need to ensure all measures are taken in order to protect civilians and ensure humanitarian assistance reaches those in need.

Secretary Blinken recognized Qatar's significant contributions to humanitarian efforts in Gaza and Lebanon, and expressed gratitude to the Amir for Qatar's essential role in mediating negotiations and promoting regional peace and prosperity.
