Blinken Meets With Jordan's King Abdullah II 12 June

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan today at the Dead Sea. Recalling this year's anniversary of 75 years of bilateral partnership, the Secretary underscored continued unwavering U.S. support for Jordan and the Jordanian people and commended the King's commitment to economic modernization and vital public sector reforms. The two discussed the comprehensive ceasefire and hostage release deal now on the table that offers a concrete roadmap for ending the war in Gaza. Secretary Blinken thanked King Abdullah for Jordan's support for the deal and leadership in facilitating the delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza. He reiterated the U.S. commitment to achieving durable peace and security in the region.
