Blinken Speaks With Qatari PM And FM Al Thani

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Al Thani discussed continued diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, secure the release of all hostages, and facilitate a significant and sustained increase in humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza. The Secretary and Prime Minister discussed the remaining issues on the table and practical solutions to bridge the differences between the parties. The Secretary reiterated that the United States will continue to work to ensure an agreement is reached. The Secretary and Prime Minister also continued discussions about the post-conflict period, including measures to ensure security, governance, and reconstruction in Gaza. The Secretary thanked the Prime Minister for Qatar's critical and continued role in working for lasting regional peace and stability.
