Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi. The Secretary and Foreign Minister discussed regional stability, including the election of President Aoun in Lebanon, continued efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza that secures the release of all hostages and surges humanitarian assistance, and ongoing Houthi threats to regional and international security and detentions of diplomatic, NGO, and UN-staff. The Secretary reaffirmed U.S. support for a Syrian-led and Syrian-owned peaceful political transition to an inclusive, representative, and accountable government.
