Blinken Talks With Qatari PM-Foreign Minister Al Thani

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The Secretary and Prime Minister discussed the death of Yahya Sinwar and the need to redouble efforts to end the conflict and secure the release of hostages. The Secretary emphasized the need to chart a path forward that will enable the people of Gaza to rebuild their lives and realize their aspirations free from war and the grip of Hamas. Secretary Blinken also reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to a diplomatic resolution to the conflict along the Blue Line that implements United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. The Secretary thanked the Prime Minister for Qatar's critical role in mediation efforts and work toward lasting peace in the region.
