Blinken Talks With Qatari PM/FM Al Thani

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Al Thani discussed the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in Lebanon to allow civilians on both sides of the Israel-Lebanon border to return to their homes. The Secretary and the Prime Minister also discussed mediation efforts to reach a durable ceasefire agreement in Gaza that would release all hostages, enable a surge of humanitarian assistance, and alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza. Secretary Blinken thanked Prime Minister Al Thani for Qatar's crucial role on these and other regional and global challenges.
