Blinken Talks With UAE's FM Abdullah Bin Zayed

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed. The Secretary underscored the need for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict across the Blue Line that implements United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and emphasized the need for additional aid to be delivered quickly. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for the UAE's provision of $100 million in humanitarian aid for Lebanon and $30 million in aid for Lebanese citizens who have fled to Syria. The Secretary reiterated that it is time to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza that brings the hostages home, alleviates the suffering of the Palestinian people, and ultimately brings an end to the war.
