An audience favourite episode of Bluey has won an award at the world's largest competition for outstanding children's television.
Bluey Sleepytime was the only Australian winner of the prestigious Prix Jeunesse International Awards, which were announced during a ceremony in Munich on 15 June.
The episode was awarded the prize in the Up to 6 Fiction category. Sleepytime takes place inside Bingo's dream where Bingo and her toy Floppy have an intergalactic adventure, to the sounds of Gustav Holst's orchestral suite "The Planets" while the rest of her sleep-deprived family try to navigate Bingo's non-stop night-time bedhopping.
ABC ME series Teenage Boss was also nominated in the 11 - 15 Years Non-Fiction category.
The Prix Jeunesse International Awards aim to promote, celebrate and honour the highest quality in children's and youth television from around the world.
Of the win, ABC Head of Children's Libbie Doherty said "Every Bluey episode is created and crafted as a perfectly formed film. Each one bringing incredible moments and connections for children and audiences of all ages.
"Sleepytime is exceptional and redefines what is possible in preschool children's programming. Congratulations to Joe and the creative team at Ludo for this well-deserved award."
The Prix Jeunesse International Award is the latest in a number of high-profile awards for Bluey. In 2021 it was awarded the AACTA Award for Best Children's Program. It was the 2019 Winner of the International Emmy for Kids: Preschool. Bluey is also nominated for the 2022 Logie for Most Outstanding Children's Program.
The ABC was also a winner in the 2020 Prix Jeunesse with Australian series Hardball and drama series The Unlisted both taking home awards. In 2018 ABC ME's First Day won the gender equity prize and What It's Like to Experience A Disability was awarded an international youth jury award.
