The bodies of two men have been located near a crashed motorbike at Harrington earlier today.
About 9am (Monday 26 August 2024), emergency services were called to Harrington Road, Harrington, following reports of a crash.
On arrival, officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District located the bodies of two men near a crashed motorbike.
The bodies are yet to be formally identified but are believed to be those of two men - aged 20 and 21 - who were reported missing from Taree last Tuesday (20 August 2024).
A crime scene was established and an investigation into circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area as Harrington Road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
