Body Found By Police Divers Searching Nepean River

Police divers have found the body of man who disappeared yesterday in the Nepean River, south of Penrith

A search had been underway of Nortons Basin at Mulgoa, about 20km south of Penrith, since a 68-year-old man jumped into the river to retrieve his fishing rod about 11am yesterday (Saturday 16 November 2024).

A search resumed about 9am today (Sunday 17 November 2024), involving officers from Nepean Police Area Command and the Police Dive Unit; the man's body was located about 10.40am.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
