Body Found in South Coast Fisherman Search

The body of a man has been located during the search for a missing fisherman on the South Coast.

About 5.10pm on Friday 7 March 2025, police were called to a location about 5km from Boyds Tower at Edrom, south of Eden, following reports a man had been swept off rocks into the water.

Officers attached to Marine Area Command responded, with the assistance of officers attached to South Coast Police District, Marine Rescue NSW, SES and Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

A search commenced for the man and was suspended at about 7.20pm.

The search continued over the weekend and resumed today (Monday 10 March 2025), with assistance from South Coast Police District, Marine Rescue NSW, NSW Police divers and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

About 10.15am today, police divers located the body of a man in Leather Jacket Bay, close to where he was last sighted.

Officers attached to South Coast Police established a crime scene.

The body is believed to be that, of a missing 34-year-old fisherman.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
