Body Located After Search - Murrumbidgee

A body has been found during a search for a man reported missing from the Murrumbidgee area.

The 62-year-old man was last seen in the Darlington Point area on Wednesday 16 October 2024.

When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Local police conducted an extensive land and water search with assistance provided by SES, NSW Rural Fire Service, VRA Rescue NSW, and POLAIR.

The land and water search continued today (Friday 25 October 2024) when a body was located.

While the body has not yet been formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing man.

Initial inquiries suggest the circumstances surrounding the man's death are not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
