The body of a man has been located following a multi-agency search in the state's south-west.
About 12pm on Saturday (26 November 2022), emergency services were called to River Street at Balranald, near the Murrumbidgee River, following reports a man swimming in flood waters had gone underwater and failed to resurface.
Officers from Barrier Police District, assisted by State Emergency Service (SES), Rural Fire Service, Marine Rescue, and other specialist police, conducted extensive land and water searches for the man since that time.
A body, believed to be that of the missing 19-year-old man, was located in Balranald about 8.30am today (Wednesday 30 November 2022).
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
