The body of a man has been located following an extensive search of a lake in Sydney's west.
Shortly after 5pm today (Monday 1 April 2024), emergency services responded to reports that a man was
seen to go beneath the water at Parramatta Lake, off North Rocks Road, Parramatta, and fail to resurface.
Officers from Parramatta Local Area Command supported by the Marine Area Command, NSW Ambulance paramedics and Surf Lifesavers commenced an extensive search of the lake.
About 7.55pm the body of the man was retrieved from the lake.
He has been formally identified as a 25-year-old man from Carlton.
Police have been informed that the man was at the location with friends when he entered the water.
There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
