Police have found the body of a man missing from Narrabri.
The 51-year-old man was last seen leaving a tourist village on Cooma Road about 6.30pm on Friday 13 August 2021.
Officers from Narrabri Police Station were notified the following day and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
Following several searches of the surrounding area, officers from Western Region Police Rescue found the body of a man in the Namoi River about 1.30pm today (Monday 23 August 2021).
The body has been formally identified as the 51-year-old missing man.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
