The body of a man has been recovered from the surf on the states Far North Coast.
Shortly before 6pm yesterday (Friday 14 February 2025), emergency services were contacted when a 68-year-old man failed to return to shore after entering the surf at Bluff Beach, Iluka, about 70km north of Grafton.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District – with the assistance of the Marine Area Command, PolAir, Police Rescue and Surf Lifesaving – commenced a large-scale search for the man.
About 7.30am today (Saturday 15 February 2025), officers located the man's body.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
