Boeing [NYSE: BA] has committed $1 million for recovery and relief efforts in response to the wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
Funding from Boeing and the Boeing Charitable Trust will support the following organizations:
- $400,000 for the American Red Cross to operate emergency shelters and provide food, emotional support and health services to those impacted.
- $300,000 for California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund to provide relief and recovery support to underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
- $200,000 to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to distribute food and hygiene items to impacted communities.
- $100,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation to equip firefighters with emergency fire shelters, hydration backpacks, wildland brush tools and other essential items for mental health support, food and water, and emergency shelter in the region.
In addition to corporate charitable investments, Boeing employees give to their local communities by participating in volunteer and charitable gift match programs. Consistent with Boeing employee gift match programs, the company will match qualifying employee contributions made in support of relief efforts.
Disaster recovery and relief efforts in California align with Boeing's ongoing commitment to the communities where the company has a presence. Boeing employs approximately 14,000 people in California, who support programs ranging from satellite manufacturing to aerospace engineering, military and commercial aircraft sustainment and fleet support, space exploration and autonomous systems.
