Bomb hoax charges at Rockhampton

Police have charged a woman following six bomb hoax calls made to various Rockhampton businesses this morning.

At about 9:45am two bomb hoax calls were made to a shopping centre on Yaamba Road in Park Avenue.

Three other businesses were contacted with similar threats including a tavern on Yaamba Road, a medical centre on Kerrigan Street in Frenchville and a supermarket on Farm Street in Norman Gardens.

Police attended the separate scenes and commenced evacuations as a precaution.

Searches were conducted, and no suspicious items were located, all businesses were reopened at approximately 11:20am.

At about 12:15pm another call was placed to a business on Victoria Parade in Rockhampton.

Police have charged a 27-year-old Norman Gardens woman with six counts of bomb hoax.

She will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
