Waverley Council in partnership with the Bondi & Districts Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 2021 launch of Bondi Festival from 25 June – 11 July 2021 on the shores of Bondi Beach.
The annual arts event and all-ages adventure zone has evolved from the amalgamation of two much-loved events - Bondi Feast and Bondi Winter Magic - in a COVID-safe, eclectic and welcoming arts precinct for Sydney-siders this winter.
Bondi Festival will showcase an incredible arts program in an intimate setting, alongside iconic attractions including the Bondi Festival Ice Rink and the Bondi Vista Ferris Wheel.
With a dynamic offering of walking tours, site-specific experiences and a large family program, Bondi Festival has something for everyone.
Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos, said Bondi Festival is just one of the ways Council is supporting the local arts industry and small businesses during the ongoing pandemic.
"Through this COVID-safe event, we'll be bringing a little warmth and joy back into our lives this winter with some fantastic entertainment, adventures and laughs," Mayor Masselos said.
Bondi Festival directors Phillip Spencer and Rachel Chant said planning for this year's Festival had not been without its challenges, but encouraged organisers to think about programming in a different way.
"We're playing with new ideas and different ways of engaging with the arts," Ms Chant said.
"We're just so excited to be bringing back the Festival vibes and we cannot wait for audiences to see what we have in store," Mr Spencer said.
Bondi Festival is delighted to welcome Switzerland Tourism as its new Leadership Partner for 2021. This partnership will enable the Festival to bring even more joy to audiences this winter and offer Festival-goers the chance to experience a slice of Switzerland at Bondi Beach.
Bondi Festival is presented by Waverley Council and the Bondi and Districts Chamber of Commerce.
Stay tuned for more Festival announcements, including the release of the full program line-up next month.
