Visitors will have to get in quick this year to secure a volunteer guided tour to learn about the secrets of this special place and see the amazing Aboriginal rock engravings against the backdrop of the Hawkesbury River.
Only a limited number of tickets will be allowed this year via a pre-booked guided tour so get in quick to avoid disappointment.
The reserve is known to transform into a brilliant display of colour when the wildflowers bloom and plant lovers will also be treated to waratahs, majestic angophoras, old-man banksias, pink boronias and delicate native orchids.
It's also home to an array of birds including soaring wedge-tail eagles, the iconic lyrebird as well as native animals such as echidnas.
Muogamarra Nature Reserve is normally accessible to the public for six weekends each year between August and September but due to COVID-19 restrictions a limited number of visitors will be permitted to the special site via a pre-booked guided tours.
Visitors should be aware that vehicle access arrangements will change this year with no vehicle access from the Pacific Highway with details of the new arrangement to shared when visitors book their tour.
