The builder behind the remarkable transformation of Bowral Memorial Hall has been awarded a prestigious Master Builder Award at a gathering of 1000 building industry leaders for the Excellence in Construction Awards in Sydney. Council's Manager Project Delivery Ned Tripkovic was proud to walk judges through the impressive venue in the lead-up to the Awards.
"Attracting an industry accolade like this is a win for the whole community," Ned said. "What we've built together is something unique in the region and it's being recognised widely as something very special."
Commercial construction company Belmadar is the Award-winning builder who received the Award in recognition of Excellence in the extensive refurbishment undertaken.
"The complete re-design of Bowral Memorial Hall, along with its heritage value made this a very involved and complicated build," Ned explains. "Belmadar brings over 125 years of combined construction experience to providing solution-based building expertise on even the most complex of projects. The refurbishment of Bowral Memorial Hall came with its share of challenges which we efficiently resolved."
Among Belmadar's many successful projects are a number of Master Builders' Association Award-winning builds.
"Demonstrated experience and high quality outcomes on challenging builds was a key factor in Belmadar winning the tender for this build," Ned said.
The Master Builders Association of NSW Excellence for Construction Awards is the premier annual event for the commercial, industrial and civic engineering sectors. It serves as a platform for celebrating remarkable accomplishments by companies and individuals within the NSW building and construction industry.
"The Award Bowral Memorial Hall's refurbishment attracted was for Restoration and Adaptive Re-Use of a Historic Building up to $10m," Ned said.
It represents one of several Awards won this year in recognition of excellence in project or service delivery by Wingecarribee Shire Council.
