Boy Arrested - Armed Robbery And Stabbing In St Kilda

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested a 15-year-old boy today following an alleged armed robbery that left a man with serious injuries in St Kilda last night.

It is alleged a male and female approached a man who was walking along Barkly Street and made demands for his car keys about 9.15pm.

The male offender, allegedly armed with a machete then assaulted the victim and the offenders ran from the scene empty-handed.

The victim, a 39-year-old St Albans man was taken to hospital where he remains with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested a boy at Southern Cross Railway Station about 12.30pm and he is currently in custody.

The female offender is yet to be located and the investigation remains ongoing.
