Homicide Squad detectives have charged a boy following an alleged fatal stabbing at a shopping centre in Melton West yesterday.
Emergency services were called to an outdoor food court area on High Street just before 12pm on Tuesday 24 September.
A 16-year-old Harkness boy was located with life threatening injuries, CPR was commenced, but he died at the scene.
It's alleged there may have been an altercation between the victim and another male who fled the scene.
Investigators subsequently arrested a 15-year-old Melton West boy and he has been charged with one count of murder.
He will appear at a children's court at a later date.
