Boy Charged After Investigation Into Break-in At Bourke

A boy will face court today charged following an investigation into a break, enter and steal in the state's north-west at the weekend.

About 4.10pm on Saturday (1 June 2024), a boy allegedly entered a home on Oxley Street, Bourke, just before the owner arrived home.

When the owner arrived home to find the front door open, he sighted a boy flee out the back door and jump the rear fence allegedly carrying two CCTV cameras.

Officers attached to Central North Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, about 12.55am yesterday (Sunday 2 June 2024), police attended a home in Bourke and arrested a 12-year-old boy.

He was taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with break and enter house steal value.

He was refused bail and appeared at a Children's court via AVL yesterday (Sunday 2 June 2024), where he was given conditional bail to appear at another Children's court today (Monday 3 June 2024.
