Boy Charged in Break-In: Operation Mongoose

A boy will face a children's court today charged over an alleged break, enter and steal in Griffith.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District commenced an investigation into a reported break and enter on a home in Doolan Crescent about 12.30am yesterday (Thursday 2 January 2025), where bikes, a cart, a wallet and a ute were taken.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District located the stolen ute just after 10am abandoned on Holbrook Road, Tolland. The vehicle was seized for further examination.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 13-year-old boy about 4pm.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, deal with property proceeds of crime, dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, and breach of bail.

He has been refused bail to appear in a children's court today (Friday 3 January 2025).
