A boy has died after being pulled unconscious from a waterhole in Sydney's west earlier today.
About 5.15pm (Saturday 1 February 2025), emergency services were called to Bents Basin following reports a seven-year-old boy was unresponsive after being pulled from the water.
Members of the public performed CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took over.
The boy was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
