Federal Member for Flynn, Colin Boyce, visited the Rotary Club of Gladstone Port Curtis this week to announce that an elected LNP Government will provide $45,000 to support the development of permanent, secure storage facilities that will strengthen the club's ability to serve the community.
The funding will allow for the purchase of a second 40-foot shipping container, the installation of a container dome and the implementation of solar panels, batteries, and LED lighting.
"This investment reflects the LNP's commitment to supporting local organisations that give back to the region," Mr Boyce said.
"For over 42 years, the Rotary Club of Gladstone Port Curtis has operated from a commercial building. This investment ensures that their operations become more efficient, secure, and environmentally sustainable, helping them continue their invaluable work in the community.
"These upgrades will provide a dedicated, secure, and sustainable space for Rotary's essential resources including food vans, generators, and equipment used to support local charities, community events, and sporting organisations.
"The work that Rotary does for our community is invaluable, and this investment will ensure that their operations are not only more efficient but also more secure and sustainable.
"By providing this much-needed infrastructure, the Rotary Club of Gladstone Port Curtis will be able to continue to provide essential equipment and support local charities, sporting organisations and community groups for many years to come."
