Federal Member for Flynn, Colin Boyce has endorsed David Batt as the LNP candidate for the federal seat of Hinkler.
Mr Boyce said he worked closely with David when they were both in Queensland State Parliament from 2017-2020 and looked forward to working with him in Federal Parliament.
"David has been part of his community for much of his career. He spent 23 years as a police officer and 10 years as a Member of the Bundaberg Regional Council. He was the Deputy Mayor and the former State MP for Bundaberg," Mr Boyce said.
"David understands the issues facing families throughout the electorate and is ready to fight for his region.
"David and I will continue to work hard for the Bundaberg region and the greater Wide Bay area."
Mr Boyce also thanked the former Member for Hinkler, Keith Pitt for his work delivering for the Hinkler electorate.
"As Hinkler borders with Flynn, I'm pleased Keith and I have been able to work on a number of projects together including advocating for the Bundaberg North Flood Evacuation Route and the rebuilding of Paradise Dam," Mr Boyce said.
"Keith has been a strong supporter of Australia's mining and agriculture sectors that keep our country's economy going.
"I would like to congratulate Keith on his appointment as Australia's new Ambassador to the Holy See and wish him, his wife Allison and his family all the best for the future."
