Federal Member for Flynn, Colin Boyce has endorsed Steve Askew as the LNP's candidate for the state seat of Gladstone.
Mr Boyce said Steve Askew has lived in the Gladstone community for over 26 years and is an industry and community champion.
"Steve knows how to tackle the challenges facing our region with military experience and having worked in Gladstone's heavy industry for the past 13 years as a Contractor Manager," Mr Boyce said.
"Steve is an active member of the Gladstone community, having twice served as President of a local Rotary Club and has been honoured as a Paul Harris Fellow recipient. Steve has also served on various club committees, supporting the community through initiatives, programs, information expos and many volunteering opportunities.
"There is a growing mood for change in Central Queensland against a tired, third term government, consumed by its own chaos and crisis. Queenslanders want a government fighting for them, not for its own survival.
"Steve will join an exceptional team of LNP candidates in Central Queensland including Donna Kirkland (candidate for Rockhampton), Glen Kelly (candidate for Mirani) and Sean Dillon (candidate for Gregory).
"It's time to make Central Queensland matter. That is why I'm backing the Central Queensland LNP team to be the region's voice in Queensland Parliament."
