Two boys have been charged after the pursuit of a stolen car across Sydney's west this morning.
Police attempted to stop a sedan about 2am (Friday 3 January 2025), after it was seen allegedly speeding on Roper Road, Erskine Park.
When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
During the pursuit, the sedan allegedly reached speeds of 185km/h in a 100km/h zone.
A short time later, the vehicle stopped on Koomooloo Crescent, Shalvey, where the alleged driver, a 12-year-old boy, and passenger, a 14-year-old boy, were arrested with assistance from specialist police and Polair.
They were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where the younger boy was charged with police pursuit not stop drive at speed, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, exceed speed greater than 45km/h, take and drive conveyance without consent, and never licenced person drive vehicle on road.
The older boy was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
They were refused bail to appear in a children's court today (Friday 3 January 2025).
Police will allege in court the two boys stole the vehicle from Double Bay earlier in the night.
