Brabham Way Is Orange's Newest Street Name

In line with state regulations, the plan to re-name several roads including the Southern Feeder Road, Blowes Road and Dairy Creek Road is being advertised on Orange City Council's website.

BRABHAM: Brabham Way will be the new name for the southern feeder road, connecting the Mitchell Highway with Orange's health and industrial precincts.

Brabham Way will be the new name for the street which connects the Mitchell Highway, on the eastern outskirts of Orange, with the health precinct and the Leewood Industrial estate. Different sections of the road are currently known as the Southern Feeder Road, Diary Creek Road and Blowes Road.

The change has been approved by the NSW Geographical Names Board and will take effect once the change of name of formally gazetted by state authorities.

The naming of Brabham Way is seen as a tribute to Sir Jack Brabham, given his strong ties to the Orange community and his racing beginnings at the former Gnoo Blas motor racing circuit.

Orange City Council has consulted with the community, including residents along the road, about the change of street name.
