Community members are encouraged to grab a piece of chalk and draw messages of support and colourful drawings outside their house.
R U OK? Day is on Thursday September 9 this year. The annual mental health awareness day encourages people to ask the question to those around them.
Strathbogie Shire Council Cr Chris Raeburn said the day was even more important this year after ongoing challenges due to COVID-19 lockdowns.
"We are eager for our community to reach out and support each other. It is always important to have these conversations but R U OK Day is a great reminder to reach out to your loved ones," Cr Raeburn said.
"It will not only be fantastic to see our footpaths brightened up with chalk drawings but it will also give our community members a chance to get fresh air, outside their house, while being creative - things that we know are beneficial to people's mental wellbeing.
"We would love it if people share their drawings with us through our social media pages or by emailing n This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. "
