Britannia Roundabout Crash

A man is lucky to be alive after a crash at Kent Town this morning.

At 2am this morning (Sunday 26 May) emergency services were called to the Britannia Roundabout after a Toyota station wagon that had been travelling north on Fullarton Road lost control and crashed into the pedestrian island.

This caused the car to become airborne and smash into a large gum tree in the middle of the roundabout which then flipped the car, it eventually rolled to a stop on the other side of the roundabout.

The driver, a 28-year-old Mount Gambier man, amazingly managed to get himself out of the wreckage. He has been taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and a blood test to see if any alcohol was present in his system.

Anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or 1800 333 000.
