The British Embassy in Asunción, Paraguay, aims to support short-term interventions valued at up to Gs. 87.800.000 that focus on promoting human rights and inclusion in Paraguay. The deadline for submitting proposals is Sunday 23 July 2023 (until 11:59pm, Paraguay time).
We welcome proposals from legally constituted non-governmental, non-profit organisations. Unfortunately, we cannot consider project proposals submitted by companies or for-profit organisations.
Thematic areas
We are particularly interested in projects proposals focused on the following thematic areas of work:
- promotion and protection of human rights: promoting equality and inclusion of people with disabilities, Indigenous People, and the LGBT+ community, and
- strengthening protection for women and girls: reducing vulnerability to gender-based violence for women and girls, including those in the target groups for this call
The United Kingdom aims to support women and girls, human rights, and inclusion. We are looking for creative project proposals that deliver real, measurable results with direct impact on the beneficiaries.
Proposals will aim to promote equality and inclusion of women and girls, indigenous people, people with disabilities and members of the LGBT+ community. Proposals should fulfil at least 1 of the following outcomes:
- increasing participation of these groups in decision-making processes
- raising awareness and promoting gender equality
- reducing discrimination and violence against these groups
- building capacity in the use of technologies, and increasing civic participation
- strengthening existing networks or creating new spaces for exchanging best practice in any of the thematic areas
- converge one or more thematic areas in interdisciplinary approaches
- enabling conditions for community-led initiatives based on research and available data
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, your organisation must be a legally registered not-for-profit agency, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) or an academic or research institution, and must demonstrate:
- proof of legal registration
- previous experience in delivering and managing projects
- preferably previous experience working with international agencies or organisations
Project bid guidance
- you must submit proposals in English or Spanish using the Project Proposal Form and Activity Based Budget (ABB) provided below. Note that project proposals in English are strongly encouraged
- projects are funded under a reimbursement scheme for a specific time period running from 4 August 2023 to 26 February 2024, with no expectations of continued funding beyond this period
- funding is paid in arrears. Project bids should demonstrate 50% spend by 30 November 2023 and 100% spend by 26 February 2024
- projects must be completed by 26 February 2024
- proposals must be submitted in local currency (Paraguayan Guaraníes)
- minimum project budget is Gs. 43.900.000 and maximum project budget is Gs. 87.800.000. Note that proposals close to the minimum or maximum limit can be considered.
- each institution may submit up to a maximum of 2 proposals
- successful bidders will be notified by 1 August 2023
- due to the high number of bids we receive, we are unable to provide detailed feedback on unsuccessful bids
