King Charles III has founded nearly 20 charities, which together raise over £100 million each year for good causes. He is Patron or President of more than 400 organisations. The causes which he champions are varied and include:
- the welfare of young people
- supporting Britain's rural and farming communities
- promoting tolerance and greater understanding between different faiths and communities
- the protection of the natural environment
- the quality of the built environment and sustainability
- protecting the arts and championing traditional craft and heritage skills
The Big Help Out, which took place on 8 May 2023, was an initiative designed to mark the Coronation by encouraging people to get together and volunteer for the benefit of their local communities.
In Windhoek, Namibia's staff at the British High Commission, supported by The City of Windhoek and the Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service joined the initiative by cleaning the Havana soccer field in Katutura and handing over soccer kits donated by Warrington Football Club from the United Kingdom to local teams.
