MidCoast Council Mayor, Claire Pontin, has congratulated the Gloucester Business Chamber for its podium finish at the Top Tourism Town Awards 2024.
Cr Pontin said it was a testament to the hard work its members had put in after receiving bronze for Top Small Tourist Town from the NSW Tourism Industry Council.
"It's a wonderful achievement and it goes to show why our region is so popular among visitors and holiday makers," she said.
"It is a testament to the hard work that has been put in by the Gloucester Business Chamber.
"We look forward to supporting Gloucester Business Chamber to continue to develop and grow the tourism industry and local economy."
The awards showcase the value of tourism to towns and communities and celebrates the diversity and outstanding regional destinations in the state.
Gloucester was up against tough competition with Berry taking out the top spot for the third year in a row and Merimbula taking runners up. Another MidCoast town was fighting it out for a top three finish too with Bulahdelah also in the running.
