Broulee 'round About Ready For Safer Intersection

Early work to prepare the way for a new roundabout on George Bass Drive will begin soon.

To be installed next year, the four-leg roundabout will replace the offset intersection of George Bass Drive and Broulee Road, and is designed to improve traffic flow and road safety at this busy junction. The roundabout will include improved lighting, and islands and paths for pedestrians and cyclists.

To prepare the site, Eurobodalla Council will begin relocating underground watermains and telecommunications over the next few of months. Road users should take care in the area and traffic control will be in place as needed.

The $2.6 million project includes $2 million from the Australian Government Black Spot Program with Council contributing the remainder. Council has yet to be successful in attracting grant money for a similar roundabout at the George Bass Drive and Train Street intersection.
