Budget 2024: $10M Investment in Toronto Harbourfront Growth

Department of Finance Canada

Harbourfront Centre is Toronto's waterfront home to arts, cultural, and recreational programming. Budget 2024 takes action to empower artists and art organizations to make our communities more inclusive, vibrant, and resilient-so that every generation has a fair shot at a good middle class life.

Starting this year, the federal government will provide $10 million over two years to support Toronto's Harbourfront Centre-a world-renowned cultural hub that contributes to the vitality of Toronto's waterfront while welcoming visitors from across Canada and the world. With this investment, Harbourfront Centre will be able to complete pending repairs in order to continue welcoming visitors and help the local economy. The investment will also support Canadian artists, ensuring they have a place to showcase their talents to Torontonians and beyond as well as improve access to community arts, culture, and recreation.

Through Budget 2024, the federal government is building a fairer Canada, where every generation can reach their full potential. It is making Canada's tax system fairer by asking the very wealthiest to pay their fair share-so that we can make investments, including in arts and culture, for every generation.
