Renowned story-tellers Bunk Puppets are bringing their theatre performance Hello Red Planet to Mildura Arts Centre this month.
Part screening, part puppetry and part theatre, the show features the voices of our community sharing their insightful stories about Mildura amid a backdrop of humanity needing to relocate to Mars - the Red Planet.
Company director Jeff Achtem said the production, which is touring regional Victoria, is based around a satirical 'information session' for Mildura residents laying out the "daring escape plan" to the Red Planet.
"Technology seems to be making promises for humanity's salvation at a blistering rate. We wanted to create a fun framework for members of a community to share their reflections and perspectives on the present, and the future," Achtem said.
Hello Red Planet will be staged next Wednesday, 21 August, providing an opportunity for local residents to take in a truly unique and entertaining experience.
Bunk Puppets have travelled the world, with seasons Off-Broadway in New York, Soho Theatre in London and The Chameleon Berlin.
They've also made repeat visits to Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival and venues throughout regional Victoria and Australia, attracting critical acclaim.
"Hauntingly beautiful. Awesome!" (for 'Swamp Juice')
